About UNC CAUSE
Learn more about how UNC CAUSE came to be, and what it is now.
The Organization
UNC CAUSE is a group formed in 1970 by the computing centers of the 16-campus University of North Carolina for the purpose of promoting cooperation and information exchange between the campuses of the UNC System in all areas related to information technology.
UNC CAUSE provides a shared system-wide membership in EDUCAUSE for those campuses not subscribed as full members. Each of these campuses have at least one representative registered and receiving all EDUCAUSE publications. UNC CAUSE provides one voting delegate representing the constituents of this EDUCAUSE System Membership.
This is an exciting and challenging time for IT professionals, given the evolution of computing and the changes that have occurred over the past 30 years. IT is now mission critical for all our campuses. From this results an ever-increasing expectation that we deliver new and expanded capabilities to our users in a timely manner. The personal challenge for all involved in UNC CAUSE is to serve our users well and empower them through technology to be more creative, productive and efficient.
The Conference
The UNC CAUSE Fall Conference is of particular importance to all involved. It provides an annual state-wide technical conference experience for campus IT staff to exchange ideas, gain exposure to advances in information technology and gain professional development at reasonable costs.
